errible Experience - Unhelpful Staff and Faulty System
We had an incredibly disappointing experience with Europcar. Despite having prepaid for our rental car, we were refused the vehicle at the counter due to a soft credit check that supposedly couldn't verify our address. This was clearly a fault in their system, as our address is valid and verifiable.
What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of effort from both the in-person staff and the help center over the phone. No one tried to find a solution or assist us in any way. We received no apologies or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused.
Our weekend plans were completely ruined as it was impossible to proceed without a car, especially considering it was just before a bank holiday. We didn't have the chance to rent a car from another company at such short notice.
While we were refunded the money we paid, this did not compensate for our ruined plans and the frustration we experienced. The lack of customer service and the reliance on a malfunctioning system is unacceptable. We will not be using Europcar again and advise others to avoid them as well.
