I purchased a car from Evans Halshaw this year only to discover the tailgate was faulty and wouldn’t operate on the electrics. 5 months have passed and the car is yet to be repaired. I attended the garage for the third time today for another attempted repair, only to be told they don’t have a manual courtesy car available and they offered me an automatic. Once again explained I’ve no experience driving an automatic and it wouldn’t be safe to drive one away from the garage in a busy area in rush hour traffic. The customer services staff proceeded to patronise me in asking how I can’t drive an automatic and telling me I’ll have to one day. When I refused the vehicle on safety grounds I was told there’s only one manual vehicle and it might not be available for further planned repair dates. So they can’t guarantee a suitable courtesy car that I can drive and I’m expected to just accept what I’m given if I want warranty repairs carried out. To make matters worse my car was scratched when I left it with the garage the second time they attempted the repair.
