I ordered a wooden playhouse n February 2021.
I could have had it delivered in 3 weeks but wanted to postpone the arrival until my garden had been landscaped and a base ready for the house to be sat on.
I am a teacher so asked if I could have it delivered on 15th April, they agreed that this was not a problem.
I contacted Furniture 123 on Monday 12th and asked would it be possible to have the delivery on the 16th as I had the opportunity to see my son for the first time in 6 months. I was told that this would be no problem and I received a confirmation email.
On the 16th I had not heard anything so I contacted furniture 123 via live chat.
I asked if they knew an approximate time the house might arrive. The lady looked up the order and told me the following:
We've been notified that your order is unfortunately out of stock, and the product discontinued. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and the sales office will be in touch to discuss an alternative or refund
I WAS LIVID.
I could not believed that it was not coming and that I had not been told. I had arranged for someone to erect it on the Sunday so that I could surprise my Grandaughters.
I phoned Furniture 123 and after an extremely long wait with the worst music I got through to a lady who told me my order had not been cancelled and was due to be delivered today but they don't know when.
They told me that they had tried to ring Shire the company they ordered from and who are organising delivery but they could not get through.
After I decided to ring Shire who I got through to quickly and was told delivery was now not until 21st April.
I could have cried. I am recently widowed and this was the final straw.
I rang Furniture 123 and spoke to a very nice man who checked and told me that according to their records the delivery was happening today 😳
I was told to wait until 4.30 then ring if not received delivery.
Within 30 minutes I received an email confirming the change in date.
Once again a long call to 123. I was told it was not their fault.
I explained my circumstances and how frustrating, emotional and inconvenient a new date is. I also said that I would never have changed the original date if I was told this could happen
I was told that was it. I was then offered £30
I asked to speak to a manager. I was told no one was available but a manager would ring me on my mobile by 5pm! Well it's 5pm and no call !!
So far no call. I should not be surprised.
I have spend a complete day on the phone, waiting for news or explaining the situation.
I have had to cancel the person who was coming to erect the non existent playhouse. I will have to ask my elderly mother to house sit on Wednesday for the rescheduled delivery.
I have cried so much over something so frustrating. I feel it has tainted my feelings towards the house. What should have been a happy thing has turned into a giant headache.
