I’ve been with Carrot Insurance for about 2 months now, and consistently put up 10/10 scores. Out of 8 weeks, I had 2 weeks of scores with 0 and as a result, I’ve been issued with a cancellation notice. One of these weeks was due to a mechanic test driving my car after sorting an issue out. I was on holiday during this time and sent the dates where I was not in the UK. However, as the mechanic was a family friend, we were not issued with a proper invoice. I understand that the company requires proper proof, but to cancel over 2 instances is outright unfair. The other instance was when I creeped over the legal limit, I reacted quickly, but this doesn’t mean anything to them. I’m a new driver & not eager to lose anything by speeding. This cancellation will just make it impossible to get insured for a decent price anywhere else! I thought the customer service would be more understanding and at least check the behaviour of my driving in general. The average scores were consistently good. In their terms & conditions it states consistently receiving negative scores would put the policy at risk. I had only received 2 warnings and have had 3-4 scores which were amber. I’m appalled by this decision and believe the company should have discussed this with me taking into account
the several factors.
