I ordered a custom sized bed frame from Get Laid Beds, which was the incorrect size upon delivery. When I called to let them know, they offered free assembly as an apology and I was hopeful everything was going to be sorted in a fairly quick manner. This couldn’t have been further from the truth.
The TLDR of it all: I’ve been waiting over four weeks for the correct frame to be delivered and Get Laid Beds has messed up delivery four times in a row.
The longer story:
Re-delivery was scheduled for six business days after I raised the issue, but I got an email stating that the frame was not manufactured in time for re-delivery.
I was mildly frustrated but still patient at this point, and after countless assurances that nothing would get in the way of delivery a second time, I took the day off work to accept the delivery five business days later.
The day before the second delivery, I got a text message confirming the date and time. Around the time the delivery was scheduled for, I got a message stating that the bed frame once again would not be delivered as promised. When I both called and emailed to check why this had happened a second time, Get Laid Beds stated it was because the bed frame had not passed quality checks.
At this point, I was understandably frustrated and asked for the frame to be delivered within the same business week. Customer service stated they could not arrange this, but would absolutely ensure it was delivered another five business days later.
So five days later, I was waiting at my flat for a third round of re-delivery and after failing to receive a confirmation message, I had no faith Get Laid Beds would come through this time. In a familiar pattern, I called Get Laid Beds and was told that I was not on the delivery schedule. Another lapse on their part.
After further back and forth through phone calls and emails and asking for a discount due to their incompetence, Get Laid Beds offered me £25 off a £1,196 purchase. We eventually settled at £173, which was significantly less than I had asked for, but I figured receiving some amount back after an entire calendar month had gone by without receiving my bed frame was better than nothing. They once again scheduled delivery for five business days later because they could not get me on the schedule beforehand, and I asked for a courtesy email the day before delivery to ensure I was on the schedule and that everything was set. A customer service representative did send me this email, confirming delivery.
Here we are on the day of the fourth scheduled delivery Get Laid Beds has promised, and yet again, I received a message stating that the bed frame could not be delivered due to “Other” reasons after receiving a message not even an hour earlier giving me a delivery time for the day. Nobody called me or rang the bell for my flat. I called and emailed Get Laid Beds, but their lines don’t open until 9am (delivery was confirmed for before 8am) and I was not given the delivery drivers’ information to call in case there was an issue.
If you’re paying close attention to this saga, you will see that Get Laid Beds has failed to deliver the bed frame four times over the course of more than a calendar month due to their incompetence. Further, the initial mistake was on their end as they sent me the incorrect sized bed frame.
I was very patient when the first mistake was made and I raised the issue at the end of January. We are now in March and I still do not have a bed frame. Get Laid Beds has not taken sufficient responsibility up until now and there have been insufficient explanations as to why I haven’t gotten my bed frame week after week to the point that more than an entire month has passed.
I have taken time off work to receive deliveries that haven’t happened and taken an inordinate amount of time to make phone calls to customer service trying to sort out this whole debacle to no avail. During this whole time, I’ve been on a mattress on the floor while Get Laid Beds has made countless excuses in an absolutely appalling showing for the company.
I read other terrible reviews online, but thought it couldn’t be as bad as other people had said. I was wrong; it was actually much worse. Avoid Get Laid Beds at all costs. I have only come across one other company as unprofessional as theirs in all of my time.
