We purchased a gift card for our son for Christmas and received it today in appalling condition delivered by Hermes (see photos)
The packaging was ripped open and the invoice was torn in half
The wallet that contains the card was torn and creased
Contacted customer services straightaway who advised me to return to head office and they would then issue a new one
I was not happy to return at my expense as for safety I would need to send it as registered. Also the time they took to deliver this one made it very likely that I would not receive the new one in time for Xmas
I asked if they could cancel this card and issue a new one as I was not sure that it had not been tampered with.
Apparently they were unable to do so
I then asked if they could send out the paper wallet that the card is attached to but they were unable to do that either
If the gift card was for myself then the wallet would not matter but the clue is in the name “gift”
