When the time came to say goodbye to our beautiful Willow after 14 years, I thought it would be relatively simple to arrange a home euthanasia vet. Not so. The first two services I tried to contact were less than great. One didn't return my email or phone call until 3-4 days later, and the other inundated me with a text message and an unsolicited phone call within a minute of me filling in their online quote form - I hadn't even submitted a request when my phone rang. Not what I needed when I was emotional and just trying to figure out what services the company provided. Then I tried Goodbye, Good Boy. What a difference! A timely reply, by email and sms as I requested. Up front and transparent costing, kind and empathetic, and very efficient service from Cassandra in organising for Dr Steven to come to us later that same day. Steven was calm and reassuring and gave Willow a peaceful and painless goodbye. To be honest, I thought that was pretty much were the service would end. I was wrong. The follow up communication from Goodbye Good Boy and their pet cremation service was just as great. We were contacted at each step to ensure our wishes were met, and Willow was returned to us safely. We elected to have Willow's ashes returned to us in a 'plain' tin for scattering, I expected nothing extra. Instead the package included a lovely certificate, a paw print, a clipping of fur and a packet of native seeds to plant in memory. Unexpected touches that were very moving and spoke of the care and love taken. I could not recommend Goodbye Good Boy enough. Thank you for making a really emotionally draining time just that much easier.
