The service itself is fine, but if you run into a problem the customer service department is extremely unhelpful. The staff obviously have targets to hit and this comes across in the way you're dealt with if you call them.
The method of ordering from Gousto is not secure enough. My account was hacked through my email, and the hacker placed a huge order to the value of over £100, different to my usual subscription, to be sent to a different address. They changed my contact details so I had no idea, I randomly checked the app and saw this huge order. By the time I realised and called Gousto, they said it was too late to cancel and that I couldn't redirect the order despite the fact the money had been taken from my credit card. They said I had to call the bank and ask for a refund.
Surely if a massive order with loads of extras is placed to a new address, and contact details changed, there should be a mechanism to notify the account holder so that they can verify the changes are legitimate - and if they are notified it has happened it is ridiculous that they can't somehow stop the order. They say they are trying to protect the environment, but letting a huge order be delivered to someone who has committed fraud is proof they don't mean what they say. I essentially paid for an order I didn't want and couldn't stop, when all they had to do is contact the warehouse or the courier and cancel it.
It's really put me off the company and I am going to delete my account as I don't think it is secure enough and customer services are very unwilling to help when something goes wrong. Will use a different meal delivery service instead.
