Avoid their bike checks at all costs. I've now driven over 100 miles back and forward to my local Halfords because of their shoddy work. They failed to fix my bike on the first and second attempts and on the third my bike was left in store over the weekend because no one bothered to call me to tell me that it was ready. Bearing in mind this is during a pandemic in which I was trying my hardest not to make unnecessary trips. Further to this, when I raised the complaint with Halfords, they peddled a lie told to them by the store in question saying that I turned down the offer of fixing it completely the first time around? Why on earth would I do that? The tone of the email was also very accusatory, with them suggesting that I should be grateful that I got so many free parts and that I wasn't entitled to further compensation. Compensation I didn't ask for nor was angling for. I raised the complaint so they could improve their service but evidently, they had no desire to do that. It's laughable, because they'd have that money in their pockets had their staff not been so poor at their job. That money is small onions to me when it means I can go about my daily life on my bike. Save your time and money and find an independent bike shop to fix your bike! They'll be far more grateful for your custom.
