Uber is terrible. Downloaded the app, used it once 6 months ago and it worked great. Used it again from the same airport to same destination as I did six months ago and I was asked to verify my ID (I already have an acct). I was stuck in an airport, running around taking a photo of my ID in various places, trying to avoid glare, getting contrasted backgrounds to maybe make the image 'pop' better, etc. Ended up asking airport personnel to help. Had a kind gentleman trying the same things I was....he couldn't get it to work, either. There was no button to actually upload the image to their app. Frustrating. Called Uber for help and the help portion of their automated menu was "visit uber.com." Couldn't speak to a person. I called back and connected to a rep to book a trip so I could ask a person what to do...she would not help. I explained the situation and asked if she could advise (no harsh words) and she simply hung up on me. Ended up calling a taxi - didn't cost much more and I highly recommend this option to people! Will do that going forward instead of Uber. Would behoove this company to have help on the spot with technical difficulties. I was left in the lurch without a ride and in the moment when you're reliant on this service, that really sucks.
