I had a terrible experience with Uber on the night between Friday, February 21, and Saturday, February 22. The price shown at the booking was completely different from what I was actually charged.
First ride: Estimated €18.20, charged €25.20
Second ride: Estimated €18.20, charged €37.00
Third ride: Estimated €11.20, charged €23.10
Total estimated: €47.60
Total charged: €85.30 ❌
That’s an overcharge of €37.70! On top of that, my credit card was pre-authorized multiple times. I have tried reaching out to Uber’s customer service, but there is no way to get in touch with an actual person for a refund request.
It’s completely unacceptable to display one price and then charge almost double after the ride. If Uber wants to charge higher fares, they should show an accurate estimate upfront instead of misleading customers.
I have been using Uber for years, but this experience has made me lose trust in the platform. Be very careful when booking—what you see may not be what you actually pay.
