What an awful experience! We bought 50% of our home 5 years ago with Haylo, thinking buying the other 50% would be relatively straightforward.......... how wrong we were! We started the ball rolling with our mortgage broker 6 months before our fixed rate ended, which we were assured would be plenty of time. If we were dealing with a competent company, I'm sure it would have been. Haylo received everything they needed 3 months before we were due to complete. Unfortunately, despite being chased by both our solicitors and theirs, we were ignored for months! Our due completion date (early October) came and went without any correspondence from Haylo. We had to pay for an extension on our RICS valuation (at our own cost) due to this, and now, 2 months after we were due to complete, (5 months after Haylo received all of our paperwork) we are still waiting! Our extension has now expired, meaning we have to pay for a brand new full valuation, again, at our own cost. Since we threatened legal action in the early part of November, we have been given 3 completion dates by Haylo, the latest one being today (November 27th) all of which have sailed by. We have been hit with a variable rate mortgage which is approximately £200 per month more than it was, all the while paying an ever increasing rent to Haylo. I won't be surprised at all if we never complete on our house, despite our mortgage offer and everything else been in place since early July. Please, if you're thinking of entering into joint ownership with Haylo, DON'T! It has been so stressful I 100% believe we would have been better off selling up and living under a bridge! The lack of communication would be laughable if it wasn't so serious, and being told that an overshoot of 2 months is normal by Haylo, only makes things worse! Avoid at all costs!
