They don't deserve even one star.
I have had a terrible experience for five months, and God knows how long I will need to put up with Homebase. In December 2023, I placed a German kitchen, and I have been promised a delivery timeline, which is expected to take up to 6 weeks. However, at the end of January, I received a call with unfortunate news - my kitchen would only arrive in the UK after February 26 and would be delivered curbside. Despised the fact I had in writing from Homebase assuring me it would be delivered inside the flat.
On February 28, my kitchen was delivered in the morning. However, upon arrival, the drivers refused to carry the delivery upstairs.
To my surprise, the units were damaged, the wrong sizes were delivered, and parts were missing. During the process, we started questioning the absence of the drawer unit. When I tried to return the kitchen due to these issues, I was told that it was against their policy, which was never communicated to me beforehand, even though the kitchen is not of merchantable quality.
It took an additional 6-7 weeks to receive the remaining parts of the kitchen, only to find that the wrong colour had been delivered, along with more missing parts. After more than five months of stress and frustration, my kitchen was finally complete at the end of May.
In January, I was promised a 10% discount via an email. And now, to add insult to injury, Homebase has offered me a measly compensation of £150 and denied me a 10% discount. Their excuse is that the employee is no longer with the company, and it doesn't matter what I have in writing. It is clear that Homebase takes zero responsibility for its mistakes and does not care about its customers once an order has been placed.
On top of that, they will try to intimidate you and blackmail you with a deadline, and if you take this matter further, they will retract this pathetic £150 offer as soon as contact has been made with any third-party dispute scheme.
In addition, they proudly told me that my kitchen designer, is no longer with them due to his mistakes. Shame on Homebase for firing your employee and running away from your responsibilities.
I urge anyone considering purchasing a kitchen from Homebase to stay away. They will lie to you, make excuses, and refuse to take responsibility for their errors. Their lack of accountability and poor customer service have disgusted and disappointed me. Others must be aware of Homebase's unprofessional and unethical practices regarding kitchen orders. Please do not fall into their trap.
