Purchased a dishwasher at Home Depot with delivery and installation. The unit was delivered on time, and unpacked. The old dishwasher (which by the way was purchased and installed by Home Depot 11 years earlier) was disconnected (plumbing and electricity) and the installer was having difficulty pulling the unit out. Without making any serious effort to pull the dishwasher out, he stated that to remove the unit I had to cut the floorboards in front of the dishwasher to get it out and they would return once I did that. I went to Home Depot and got two carpenters to consider the job and both said that was not a good idea. Went back to Home Depot and told them I wanted someone else to install the dishwasher and they said that as it is a separate contracted service they could not get me someone else but would refund the fee for the installation which they did. I hired a separate contractor to do the job. The old unit came right out. Yes, they had to tug it a bit at first as the external insulation around the unit was thick, but it came right out and the new one slid right in. The entire process was maybe 30 minutes. I will not be purchasing any appliances from Home Depot in the future until they hire competent contractors or better yet bring that service in-house.
