I went to Home Depot in Biloxi Mississippi, to look for a contractor to build and install a new window in my house's brick wall and to also remodel our laundry room. After providing me with a list of contractors, one of the staff members strongly suggested Elisha Kelly to complete the work. He was the best among the others listed, she said. Needless to say, Elisha ended up being the worst contractor I've ever dealt with. I will now list what happen:
1. Elisha locked up out of our home on purpose:
We gave Elisha a key to the front door when he first started working for us. However, one night, Elisah deliberately locked us out of our house by exiting through the gauge door rather than the one he had the key to. Therefore, in order to regain access to our house, we had to call a locksmith. Again, making us spend more unnecessary money. The reason why I knew Elisha meant to lock us out was because earlier that day Elisha got upset with me because I had to talk to him about being disrespectful.
2. Elisha did not install our window correctly:
When I first talked to Elisha, he told me he knew how to build a brand-new window, but he did not. He did such a bad job that my neighbor had to finish the installation (who is a brick mason). I also took pictures of how Elisha installed my window for evidence of his horrible work. If anyone would like to see them, please contact me.
5. Elisha attempted to steal my brick following the window demolition:
We fired Elisha and enlisted my neighbor to finish the installation. When the contractor inquired about the brick's whereabouts, Elisha falsely claimed the waste collectors from my neighborhood had taken it. However, once Elisha learned that others and I had witnessed him loading the brick into his truck and driving away, he admitted that the brick was at his house and subsequently returned the bricks. So, now my neighbor was able to properly install my brick window.
3. Elisha blocked access to the existing dry vent and outlet after he put back up the drywall: he totally covered it up. So, the outlet needed to be reinstalled by someone else, and my husband had to find the dryer hole in the wall cutting through the wall to gain access to it. It wasn't until we let him go that we realized he had this.
It's unbelievable that Home Depot suggested Elisha to me. They must not have thoroughly vetted him. So, ultimately, I blame Home Depot for recommending Elisha Kelly from “Kelly Solution Construction LLC to me. Elisha Kelly is by far the worst contractor I have ever met, and I would not recommend him to anyone. Elish not only extended the time of our project, but he was on occasion disrespectful, deviant and malice. Shame on you Home Depot for having Elisha on your list of contractors to help your customers. The pictures you see below will shoe you two types of trim Elisha install around my window, bad installed crown molding, bad installation of trim in corner of wall (had to be reinstalled by someone else, and a picture of how Elisha put Wood up against the window and did not use my own bricks to outline the window (My window had now been installed correctly by my neighbor who took down the wood around the window and use my brick that Elisha took to his house and was made to return. I did not include the after picture.
