Took a chance and ordered three acoustic grade inserts for living room in the hope of cutting down noise that we experience from a two lane road located down street and towards the back of our home. I'd say the distance between road and the room we purchased for is 200 - 250 feet. Noise is mostly problem in winter when trees on county land have shed their leaves. Noise from road we were trying to reduce was wheels on road going 40 - 60 mph - the wsssssshhhhhhh sound cars make if you can imagine that. I went into the purchase knowing it was a gamble, knowing I was never going to completely silence the noise and just hoping for the best really. Three panels cost me just over 1000 dollars (we have tall windows) - it was a risk worth taking as the noise in the Fall and Winter was getting to me more and more. The panels work very well. I did my research before committing to Indow researching noise reduction on line, checking window replacement companies and even speaking to reps from those companies. I went with Indow because if they failed It would be my lowest monetary loss. I'm content that I did. The wsssshhhhhhhhh sound is still there but dampened, muffled to the point it has very little to no shock value. Again, I knew going into this that even if they did work, I was never going to achieve complete silence - the company claims up to a 70 percent lower noise reduction on single pane and a 50 percent reduction on double pane. I have double pane (not the best and came with our home) and I have to admit that I have at minimum a 50 percent decrease in noise from the road and cars with the acoustic grade inserts so they are indeed meeting my expectation. Customer service is great and the process of measuring is truly not that bad at all. I was worried about "What if I am off by the narrowest of margins." Don't be because the way the windows are cushioned allows for a small error when placing along the inside of the window frame. Again, to sum up points. Content with purchase, noise is still there but GREATLY REDUCED AND MUFFLED/DAMPENED (the edge is taken off noise), wonderful customer service, measuring process is not bad at all, packaged well and arrived in about 3.5 weeks from west coast to east coast. Will purchase more when time is right. I recommend.
