ITA's program is okay; however, it is not necessarily great. The program bases itself on providing a lot of information that TEFL students have to accomplish going through in a limited time. The program does not teach "how to actually teach" - provide information to an audience (students) effectively for them to retain that information. I feel that most people could get up and provide information; formal presentations at scientific conferences provide plenty of information to the audience - children or adults, whom may not be interested or learn anything; however, when teaching, the teacher expects the students (audience) to actually learn something - retain the information given to them. Thus, I feel that the teaching process and presentation should be the most vital aspect of teaching English to foreign language students. ITA should improve the program by having students listen to authentic or realistic recorded classes provided by TEFL teachers to different ESL age groups. And, at the same time, making the program more cost-effective and reducing the strict time limitations, providing TEFL students time to thoroughly perceive the information to become fantastic proven-effective English teachers - not just trying to capitalize off of students as much as possible.
