If i could give them a 0 star review I would. I am so upset at their jewelry department (every store). My boyfriend purchased a promise ring from them in May and we waited 3 weeks for it to be resized and come back in. It was beautiful when it did finally come back in HOWEVER THREE days after getting it back a diamond completely fell out and 2 more were loose and had moved. We were upset because I only had it for 3 days so we took it back and luckily we had gotten a lifetime warranty. We asked for our money back since the ring was defective and I only had it 3 days before it fell apart. We were told that they cannot give refunds back. So we decided to send it off using the warranty and have them replace the missing diamond and fix the other 2 that were clearly crooked. They told us it was going to take 5 to 8 weeks. I was very upset because I only had the ring for THREE days!! Also, this was not a cheap rinky dinky ring, we paid quite about of money for it and were told that it is uncommon for diamonds to fall out. We waited FIVE weeks for it to come back in, and yesterday we went to pick it up, and guess what.... the crooked diamonds were NOT fixed. We didn't even leave the store with it. They were clearly still crooked and it was VERY noticeable. I was so upset and I started crying because we need the ring now for an upcoming date AND we were told we would have to wait FIVE more weeks while they sent it off to be FIXED AGAIN. THEY didn't fix it in the first place. The manager told us we could not get any money back they could only send it off again. Finally, she said she would exchange it for the same ring or give PARTICAL money back. Not even the whole thing even though I only ever had it for THREE days. I was still so distraught that we couldn't get the full refund, so we decided to go with a different ring and hope the diamonds wouldn't fall out. So now were having to wait a few weeks for the new one to come in. I am so unhappy with how they handled this. I feel as if they should have sent our ring to be fixed first since they didn't fix it correctly in the first place. We will NEVER be buying from JC penny again and we will tell everyone we know how horrible our experience was that way they will not buy from them too. JC Pennys ruined our ring shopping experience and I hope other people do not fall into this trap.
