I have shopped at JC Penny for decades, with very few issues Until my shopping trip on 8/17/24. On this trip I fell in love with their Liz claiborne wide leg cropped jeans, and they were 40% off, to my delight! However, they didn't have my size, therefore, I had to order them online. I placed the order, and my total was a whopping $71.28! When I asked the salesperson what happened to the 40% discount, I was advised that the discount was for in store purchases only, per their policy! I was flabbergasted, and I never knew there was such a policy! I expressed my disappointment, as it was not my fault they didn't have my size in the store. I was also told that they couldn't cancel the order, in the store, and that I had to wait 24 hours before I could cancel the order. I called customer service today, and was advised that they could not cancel my order, and to contact the store, who always had the ability to cancel the order in the store. I am very disappointed in how JC Penny makes a difference in their customers, with respect to discounts, and the run around that I am getting with respect to rectifying this situation. I can say that I will have to think long and hard before I shop there again!
