My tale with Jennis & Warmann is all too familiar. I ordered a suit in August 2020; when it finally arrived (about a month longer than it should have taken), I received two shocks. First, I had to pay an import duty (I am in the UK, so was surprised as to why I needed to pay customs dues for a UK product). It turns out the suit was made in Shanghai, despite all the emphasis on #British in Jennis & Warmann's advertising. Second, the shoulder had been sewn to the arm of the suit jacket in a way that was clearly wrong, and never should have passed quality control from, apparently, the company's expert tailors in Shanghai. I notified the company—Jay, it turns out—that I would be returning the suit. He confirmed the address to where I should return it, and confirmed that I would be reimbursed for the customs dues I had to pay. This was on 26 October and 3 November, via email. Despite sending five polite follow-up emails, I have yet to receive any response from Jay (or anyone else), nor have I received my refund (and reimbursement of the customs duty). Like so many others reviewing this company, it is impossible to get a reply from anyone, nor is the company contactable in any meaningful way (unless it's to take your money). For those considering using this company, my advice is don't. A quick glance at their information on Companies House gives cause for concern about the reputability of Jennis & Warmann. And the growing chorus of complaints about non-existent customer service, long delivery times, and faulty products should induce caution in any potential buyer. The fact that these 'bespoke tailored suits' (a tautology, I would add) are made in China means that Jennis & Warmann also has an appalling carbon footprint, made all the worse because nowhere on their website do they specify where, exactly, their tailors are based (though they certainly lead one to infer that their suits are British). If I'd known this, I never would have ordered from them in the first place, and would have saved myself the ongoing hassle of trying to get my refund. Jennis & Warmann, from my perspective at least, seem to be scam artists, and they are a disgrace to small businesses in the UK and elsewhere. There is nothing reputable or honest about them.
