A shambles. This is a company that do not care one bit about their customers, they want money, and if anything goes wrong it is almost impossible to get the issue solved. Their customer support are robots with no authority to solve issues. I complained and was promised call within 24 hours, this did not happen, but when I went on to live chat, they told me they had tried to contact me twice today by phone, this simply was not true. I demanded a call and got a call 15 minutes later, again from someone with no authority to resolve the dispute.
Unbelievably, no matter who badly things go wrong, how much time is wasted, and no matter if you end up with no food at all, they are only authorised to give £5 in compensation. £5!!! What an insult.
It all began when I ordered dinner for myself and my partner. All was going well, I check the order progress and it said the food was cooked and they were just waiting on a delivery driver, who had been notified. 40 minutes later I get a message telling me my order has been cancelled and I will get a refund. By now it is too late to sot anything else out to eat. They stated that the order was cancelled because the restaurant did not have the food to fulfil my order... well how on earth was it cooked and ready to pick up then? 1st Lie
Then I get a call from just eat, telling me my order had been cancelled. I have by now already discovered that the order was cancelled, so i was already fuming when they called. I wanted to be compensated, because I was now left with no dinner, and a period of days without my own money because of the refund processing time. I was told that they could not offer compensation, but after making it very clear that was not good enough, they offered me £5, which I told them what they could do with. She then hung up on me.
I'm not one to let these things go, so I complained and was promised a call back within 24 hours. This did not happen, and then they had the audacity to tell me they had tried to call twice today, they had not. Lie 2.
There are many clear indicators that this company to not care one bit about their company...
1. There is no phone number in their contact section on the website
2. Even their love chat is a robot. You can bypass this by typing 'I want to speak to a human'
3. When you do get through to customer services, it is in India. Nothing wrong with that in principle, but these people may as well be robots because you get canned reply after canned reply, and they have no ability or authority to resolve any compaint.
4. Try speaking to them on facebook, thats the best one, it is a bot, and not a good one, noone reads the messages on facebook.
They are cost cutting at the expense of customer service and it really shows. I know this service is convenient, but as soon as it goes wrong, believe me, that convenience goes right out of the window.
Support your local take away by ordering direct, you will still get the same services, same delivery driver, and your local take away will not have to pay a cut to this awful company. Plus in my experience delivery charges are much lower if you order direct.
