Please tell me what you would do in this situation if you were the manager of Leon’s in Barrie. Here’s the basic situation: My daughter ordered accessories for two expandable cribs (convert to toddler) that she was given as a gift. Without boring you with too many details, when I drove to Barrie on their direction to pick the parts up (1hr 15 mins), it became very clear that Leon’s had screwed everything up. It took another hour for them to figure out what they were supposed to do, and because a previous Leon’s employee had screwed up on the original order, I actually had to re-order and repurchase the products at the Barrie store. All seemed fine and I was sent to the loading dock. Without me realizing it, they loaded my vehicle with one set of the correct parts PLUS a $700 complete crib set (that we didn’t order or pay for). When I realized this (Ok, I'm not always quick), I turned around and went back to the store. Turned out they only had one set of parts (not the two we ordered) and that the crib that was loaded was obviously another huge mistake on their part. They told me they could have the second set of parts we paid for sent to them from another store but it would take two weeks. I asked to speak to the manager (Blaine) and told him that since Leon’s had waisted my time (at least 2 hours not counting travel) and my gas… AND that because I’m an honest man I had just returned to them that $700 crib saving them quite a loss, shouldn’t they offer to spend $50 and ship the parts to our house in Meaford so that we don’t have to do the trip again? Manager Blaine, “We aren’t allowed to ship via fedex or other services and I’m not about to send one of my trucks with this small order to Meaford. I’m not going to break that rule”. So, after picking my jaw up off the floor, I said….”Ok, If you can get it sent to your store, why can’t you just send it to the Collingwood store so we won’t have to drive so far again to pick it up?”. Manager Blaine: “That’s a franchise store”. So…? Silence. No offer to help. Just come back to Barrie when they have it and pick it up. I’m interested to know what you might have done if you were Blaine.
