I purchased a TV from Leon’s as a retirement gift for my 70-year-old mother, trusting in their reputation and the quality of their products. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced. The TV failed just 16 months after purchase, leaving my mother—who is on a fixed income—with the burden of dealing with an expensive, short-lived purchase.
When I initially contacted Leon’s customer support through their website, their response was cold and dismissive. They simply reminded me that the TV was out of the 12-month manufacturer warranty and stated there was “nothing they could do.” The email even ended with the shocking line: “Please consider this our last correspondence regarding this matter.”
Still hoping for a resolution, my elderly mother went into the store to plead her case. For a senior living on a limited income, every dollar matters, and buying a TV is a significant investment. Despite her efforts, the store staff said they were unable to help.
Leon’s did take the initiative to contact the manufacturer on my behalf, which I appreciated. However, after multiple follow-up calls, they informed me that the manufacturer was unable to assist. In that same conversation, Leon’s suggested I come in and shop their Black Friday sale—a suggestion that felt like a slap in the face. Essentially, their best offer was for me to spend more money in their store after selling me a product that barely lasted over a year.
This entire experience has been deeply frustrating and disheartening. Leon’s failure to stand by the products they sell, combined with their inability to provide a meaningful resolution, shows a lack of care and accountability. For seniors or anyone on a fixed income, deciding where to spend your money is important—and Leon’s has proven they are not a store you can trust.
To anyone considering shopping at Leon’s, think twice. If something goes wrong, you might find yourself out of options and left with nothing but disappointment.
It’s not just about the TV—it’s about standing by your customers and doing what’s right. I cannot recommend this store to anyone.
Bottom line: Leon’s cares about the sale, not the customer. Spend your money somewhere that values you, especially if you’re on a fixed income and need purchases to last.
