My review is not necessarily about the product itself - although I’m not thrilled with what happened … my review is for LG’s customer service. It is the worst of the worst. A little over a year ago I purchased an LG washer and drier. Both were pretty top of the line and front loading. I did a load of laundry this morning and once I heard the tone sound marking the end of the washing cycle, I walked into my laundry room to find a flood on my floor. My first instinct was that the drain pipe must have fallen out of the wall or that one of the hoses came loose - but that was not the case. I opened the standing drawer that lifts the washers foot off the ground and it was soaked as well. But the pre-drilled holes in the bottom allowed the water to leak out underneath the drawers onto the floor underneath the entire washing machine. I opened the little compartment on the bottom left of the washer which contains the drain pump filter. Water was coming out of the bottom of the screw in plug so - I found the leak. But the cap was as tightly fit as possible. I then called LG and that’s when things got nuts. First they disconnected me. Then - they disconnected me again. Then, after holding for a long long time they disconnected me again. Finally, I got through. I spoke with some who knew less than I did. He explained that the one year warranty was a couple weeks too late and wanted my credit card so that they could charge me $450 - over half of what a brand new washer cost - and they would send someone out to fix it. That was a total waste of an hour of my time as I’m not spending $450 to fix a $799, one year old washing machine. I watched a YouTube video describing the steps to take to clean out the drain pump filter. When I removed the filter, there was a little tiny bit of wet lint but surely nothing one would expect to cause a catastrophic leak. I took the lint out, rinsed the filter in the sink and put it back it and ran an empty washer through a cycle. No leak. What amounted to a couple of hairs caused this washing machine to leak. I seem to have solved the problem but obviously it wouldn’t take much to have that happen again. To think that rather than walk me through those simple steps, LG customer service wanted to extort $450 from me is unconscionable. So here is the long and the short of it. There is no world in which I would ever purchase another LG product again. And now that I have warned you - my I suggest you purchase a better brand name as well.
