I have purchased an LG refrigerator two years ago.
A few days before Christmas, the fridge started making some noise. Similar to a fan scratching a surface.
I found in the LG app that there is a CF error. Which means Cooling Fan error.
I opened a ticket with LG support, and they said a service partner will pick up the ticket and contact me to schedule a visit.
I waited more than 24 hours and nothing.
I contacted LG chat again, and they said they will put a message in the system to the service partner.
Still nothing.
Christmas day and the fan completely stopped working.
The refrigerator stopped working the ice and water dispenser. That was a terrible day to happen this, as I have many friends to come to my house on the Christmas Eve.
Next day after Christmas I call again the service partner and they answered the phone. I explained the situation and asked if they have the new fan available to replace. They said yes.
A few hours later, the service partner texted me and said they put an order for the fan and the part wasn't available. It was on back order.
I got terrified. How could a company like LG don't have a fan available for replacement?
I immediately contacted LG chat and said. Cancel this ticket. I will find someone else who could solve my problem faster.
The company let me hang dry with something so important like a refrigerator. I got food wasted because the freezer lowered the temp to keep running in a "low-mode". I couldn't get water or ice from the dispenser because it turned off due to the safety mode. The fridge started working much warmer because the fan completely stopped working.
My advice is: If you can avoid buying LG products, do it.
It is not worth the nightmare if the product breaks, and they don't provide you the support. Even with products like a refrigerator, where you and your family rely on.
