Absolutely terrible experience we were put through by Love-holidays, arriving to be informed by a Spanish builder the hotel we booked with loveholidays.com had been closed since December 2020, After the bus driver dumbing us outside a locked gate, with no knowledge about any change to our holiday? Or what to do next? Left outside in the baking heat panicking & left wondering if i had been completely ripped off by loveholidays.com?
(Booked July 22nd 2021, 2 days before our holiday)
Never again will I risk booking with this company or risk booking a stay with a coral hotel company, after loveholidays blaming Coral hotels for miss-informing them about re-opening on July 22nd 2021?
Later i was informed by another guest that they had the same issues one week before we arrived, again being informed the sister hotel was still closed and offered this hotel as a replacement (one week before they travelled)
So, both Loveholidays & Coral ocean view Costa Adjei Knew the hotel was closed & would remain closed, way before we made this booking yet failed to inform me or give me any option of a full refund or change of holiday.
Sat outside on a wall in 32c heat i send a message to Loveholidays about the matter, to be called back, stating on July 22nd when we booked loveholidays were told the hotel was reopen from that date? And sent us to a sister hotel 25 minutes away, when I asked the sister hotel (Coral Suites) About the closure they also confirmed the hotel had been closed Since December with no intension of reopening any time within this season?
This had been confirmed by 2 different staff, one from each of the two hotels and confirmed from another guest who had made the same booking one week before our arrival date, But the other customer was offered the change 1 week before arriving?
We were offered nothing and NOT informed until mid-way through our flight!
The rude customer rep i spoke with on the phone to love holidays, replied why have you not listened to your voice mails about the matter?
Because i was on a plane! 2+ hours in to our flight on the date of our holiday when you decided to let us know? You cant offer us an alternative 2 hours after our holiday has started! While on a Plaine with no point of contact! One weeks Parking paid for; A hotel stay in Manchester for 4 people the night before, Fuel & travel costs, Holiday insurance, Emergency return flights home? You offered nothing! Not even a full refund!
Not only is it illegal to change our holiday without us being offered a full refund under the right to cancel act, you blatantly lied to me in the phone call stating it was fault of the original hotel for not telling your company the hotel had decided to remain closed?!
I refused your option of transferring us to the sister hotel and requested a full holiday refund as you had failed to inform us in time before our holiday started and by doing this had broken the law under the customer consumer rights act.
I was then called back and told I had no right to a refund as a i had already used the flight ticket to Tenerife and only qualify for a part refund covering the hotel booking itself.
Had i known you were going to fob me off with a different hotel the day before our travel i would have requested a cancellation and full refund.
Then you break the law a second time by saying I still dont have any rights to a full refund & I’m offered a part refund of £250? Which I still dont have to this day! Feeling forced by your company to take it or leave it? while stranded in Tenerife without warning, and being told i will lose a huge about of my original booking price paid should I decline this offer and be prompted checked out of the hotel by loveholidays.com
This is blackmail, being left with no choice to accept this after arriving in Tenerife is illegal under UK law.
I have taken a video interview of this being confirmed by hotel staff, about your lies including a statement from another guest confirming you knew about the hotel closures 5- days before i even made by booking, you will be held responsible for negligence through the small claims court.
So, we tried to make the most of this forced holiday, the rest of our party that come with us were quite worried we would not have any return transfers? So once again i had to contact loveholidays about this...
I was told it will be confirmed in email to me and reassured me we would not be left stranded again when it came to return transfer?
With less than 24 hours until our return transfer and still no follow up email or any kind of confirmation.... I contacted them again through the previous message conversation and asked for an urgent reply! Now starting to panic again!
Morning of check out still no reply and nothing at the hotels transfer boards confirming any return transfer?
wondering if we would be left stranded again and forced to pay for a taxi to the airport? Yet again stress levels peaking and running the holiday for second time.
Only the day after we arrived home could they be bothered to reply about our return transfers?
Very rudely saying provide proof of taxi receipt and proof that i made every attempt to contact the transfer company we used? And they would look in to the matter?
We booked transfers with YOU loveholidays.com through a complete holiday package jus the same as the hotel you illegally ripped us off with.
Not a third-party company!
What kind of trust, if any? Is this for customers and 2 criminal lying companies?
You will not get away with this.
