I used to travel a lot with loveholidays and never really had a problem .. until July.
We booked Summer Beach Hotel in Crete and when we arrived we had issues checking in, some of us didn’t get rooms until 10/11pm, but the worst part was that our rooms were on a construction site in a completely different hotel (Mare Village). Wires hanging everywhere, water coming from the lights above, flodded bathrooms, no working AC, unfinished rooms and hundreds of other issues, but the cherry on top was having no glass in the bathroom shower … the frame was there but no actual glass! The shower was overlooking the inside courtyard of the hotel and forgot to mention, the works started at 7:30 am every morning. We had workers outside of our shower and couldn’t even take a shower due to not having a window! This was just day one, as you can imagine there was more issues. Food horrible, staff rude, pool dirty, towels dirty and with holes. You can see my hotel review on google - this review is more about how loveholidays handed this situation.
We had two bookings:
1st booking - 4 nights, 3 rooms
2nd booking - 7 nights, 1 room
We contacted them and was advised to send in pictures and someone will get back to us. We sent all of that and never received a response despite chasing them multiple times. Nothing has been done during our stay.
Fast forward to the end of the stay, we logged a complaint. One, we were in the wrong hotel, two health and safety hazards everywhere, three useless customer service leaving the customers to just figure it out, four all of the issues we encountered during our stay.
Love holidays told us “oh sorry we didn’t get a response from supplier and won’t be able to help you” and issued random refunds 50% on the 4 days stay and 20% on the 7 day stay, we’ve had the exact same issues and the 7 day stay didn’t even have the glass in the shower window! Are you guys just randomly deciding on who to give the refund to and how much? This should have been a full refund straight away.
Anyways, I explained to them that if they offer services on their website from external providers (understandable as that’s how they work) it is on them to make sure that they thoroughly check them before and that the supplier actually has services to offer. They clearly didn’t as they oversold the hotel we were supposed to be in and decided to put the rest of the people in an unfinished hotel. Hotel was a part of a bigger chain.
We responded saying that we do not agree to both refunds and are expecting a full refund. This is now between love holidays and the provider, not us! It clearly shows that we are in the right given that the supplier decided to ignore you! Red flags all over!
Issue a full refund for both bookings and take it up with the provider you have a contract with, this has nothing to do with clients (us).
I have opened up another complaint and basically received an answer saying ‘oh sorry you’re still unsatisfied, we will take your feedback on board’. What on earth!
Like I stated in my response, there are multiple people affected by this provider that we have met during our stay and are in contact with. Additionally, thanks to the video I have posted on TikTok, which now has 1.2 million views I have been contacted by other people who were there shortly after. Unless a full refund is issued, we will be making a joint claim and taking this to court. We have a strong case, hundred of videos and pictures, proof of us contacting both hotel and loveholidays to resolve this during our stay and tips on how to make our case even stronger by someone who took you to court and won, and they didn’t have half as many issues as we did, so safe to say our case is a winner. More than happy to waste my time in court to make sure people get compensated for such an awful experience and staying in an unsafe environment.
I am expediting a full refund within the next 7 days, otherwise we will see you in court. Refunding us is definitely going to be a much cheaper option for you if you think about the court fees :)
Be warned that if you book with loveholidays it might be lovely, unless there’s an issue. Then you’re on your own with a horrible holiday and wasted money.
