In June 24, I booked a holiday to Tunisia to travel from 18th December 24 to 28th December 24 for me, my partner, daughter and son through Love Holidays. Another son booked the same holiday to Tunisia for him, his partner and my 2 grandchildren.
During November 24, I received a call from someone claiming to be Love Holidays saying it is unsafe to travel to Tunisia and they are refunding holidays. I got a bit suspicious so politely put the phone down and went on the app to love holidays and stated a chat conversation. they confirmed no one from love holidays called me. I telephone called love holidays through the app and we put extra security measures in place when speaking with them. Because these scammers had known when I was travelling. One of my sons decided not to travel with us because the scammers knew we would be away from our house. I notified Love Holidays and said I would like to change one passenger to another passenger. They said ok. The hotel booking was adjusted but they said I have to call the flight supplier myself which was EasyJet. I called EasyJet early November and paid approximately £100 for a name change.
In order for my partner to travel, I had to get a Tunisian visa for him. I also paid for airport parking for 10 days.
On 18th December, me and my family went to Luton airport. My older son, partner and 2 kids checked in and dropped off their baggage. I tried to check in to be told that they cannot find my details on the system. When they checked further. They advised me I have to call Love Holidays because the flights have been cancelled.
I called Love Holidays to be told that I had cancelled the flight and that I have to pay for a new flight if I want to travel. I explained that I did not cancel anything.
They advised me to take it up with EasyJet. I called EasyJet and they said I called them and cancelled my flight and further said I don’t have access to my email so gave them a new email. EasyJet cancelled the flight and issued a travel voucher to that person. I tried to explain that I did not cancel anything and asked for the email address they sent paperwork to. They wouldn’t provide the details.
What was really annoying is, whoever called EasyJet to say they changed their email address. I was still able to speak to EasyJet and confirm my usual email address in order for them to speak with me.
After Approximately 6 hours of speaking back and forth to Love Holidays and EasyJet. None of them were willing to take accountability of what happened. I was unable to travel. I asked EasyJet if the holiday voucher had been used and they said ‘no’.
I asked if they could put me on the next flight with the holiday voucher and they said ‘no’.
Here’s a reworded version of your statement that conveys emotion:
My son, his partner, and our 2 grandchildren have traveled to Tunisia without the rest of our family. What was meant to be a joyful family holiday for Christmas has tragically turned into a painful separation. I feel a deep sense of anger and sadness, especially since neither Love Holidays nor EasyJet has accepted responsibility for this situation. The distress, anxiety, and financial loss we are experiencing are truly heartbreaking, compounded by the loss of the cherished time we should have spent together as a family during the holidays.
