Sadly it's going to be very difficult to shop at lowes, after spending thousands of dollars ( we have recipts), after a heart wrenching experience at the lowes in ormond beach, on April 1st my wife and I went to purchase water softener items for our home which we have lived in since 1986. Our plumber had introduced us on what items we needed to complete the project. We talked to a person named Bruce at the water softener area,he talked us into buying two additional items we would need also, and advised us that the store was doing an in store promotion for the employees, his name would be on the sales, he was very nice and retrieved a flat cart too transport the items to the front of the store where we would pay for them, the cashier asked if we would like to sign up for a Lowe's card,we declined and then was asked if I was a military veteran, I said yes the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, she said great, and gave the discount, which actually I never served to receive any discounts, but anyway, my wife paid cash for the items totaling $1205.77 so we loaded up and went home with our items. Unknown to us the very next day our plumber had a heart attack, we felt just terrible, eventually we got to talk to him, he was in recovery and had to take it easy. My wife and I knew that money was going to be an issue for him, bills would be piling up,so we told him that we were in no hurry and would wait for him to get better. He did get back on his feet and set up a time to come and put in our new water softener. When he arrived he looked at the items and said we didn't need the two items we were talked into buying. He installed the water softener and believe me it's fantastic, very happy till this moment. My wife took the two pieces that were not needed back to lowes with receipt in hand, she went back and explained to Bruce that she didn't need the two items, he was very nice and walked her to the front of the store, advised her to bring in the items and go to customers service, where a gray hair lady with reading glasses this was July 18th, noonish, the lady was rude as rude, Bruce advised her that items were not open, still in the box unopened, the lady shot back and told Bruce to return to his duties. My wife told the lady all she wanted was her money back from the items she was talked into buying, the lady said she could not because it was 90 days since she bought the items, my wife said she wasn't aware of anything about 90 days, no where NO WHERE on the recipt does it read that. The lady said you have to look on line for that information, my wife said that's crazy, the lady said she could put the money back on a credit card if she had used one, my wife asked what in the world does that have to do with it? The lady also replied that using the military discount was an issue, my wife asked to talk to a manager, the lady called a guy named Tony, he said he was an assistant manager, and had to agree with the lady because he knew nothing about what was going on, later we found out he was no assistant manager, my wife upset because now having two items we were talked into buying which we do not need totaling 400 dollars, she loaded it up in her vehicle one rather heavy, no one offered to help her, my wife returned home and called customer support, 1 800 445 6937. She was on hold for 24 minutes. Finally talking to Michelle, she advised someone would call back 24 to 72 working hours, till this day no one has called. This is very heart breaking, we love Lowe's, obviously we have spent thousands of hard working money, but can not for the life of me why they wouldn't give her money back, we would have only spent it at lowes anyway, I have just started buy Milwaukee tools, but ACE DEPARTMENT STORES sell that brand as well, I can not recommend lowes at this time.
