This wasn’t the best match up for coaching. During intake I wasn’t asked anything specific about me.. it was more general conversation and he seemed distracted. I knew then that just wasn’t a good match at all. It was my fault for not speaking up. But this was the second coach assignment after the first coach had availability that was over a week from my start, causing me to lose a week of coaching that I had paid for. 20-something men don’t match well with 50+ post menopausal women. I would note how difficult it was for me to get sleep in menopause and he would send me articles about how important sleep is. I know sleep is important. That doesn’t help at all. Reminding people “how important it is to…” isn’t giving any tools to work through that hurdle. All it does is add guilt and stress.
