Have loved MI coaching: nutrition and training Coach Eugene is insanely patient and knowledgeable. I lost 51 pounds in 1 year and 37 in the first 6 months. Before coaching, I dabbled with tracking macros following the Facebook group for 4 years losing and gaining the same 18 pounds. My mindset with food has changed with the combination of therapy and MI coach. Coaching really helped me control the weekend/evening snacking which destroyed the results of the rest of my well-tracked meals. It also helped me understand events and conversations that would set me off to overeat and sabotage my goals. A lot of the coaching work was about my relationship with treats, snacking, boredom, and hunger and changing my mindset from resistance to flexibility. It’s wonderful to have someone on your side—completely invested in your health and life in general and who enjoys seeing many photos of your dogs and snow. I held off on coaching because I was afraid of rigidity from coaching that would make me rebel. I also knew I had to work a plan that I would be able to sustain for the rest of my life. Coaching has been that for me: Learning to be flexible, planning in foods to look forward to that include oil and fat and sugar, practicing not tracking and maintenance, etc. I eat out at least twice a week and have lost steadily. I also travel fairly often for work and/or attend conferences, go on vacation, and my coach reminds me to have a realistic plan for each event. I know that everyone is unique and in a different place, but overall I think the bent in coaching is towards flexibility with your life and figuring out how to make this work long-term for you. I’m still with my coach and will continue as I have more to accomplish. It’s changed my life completely!
