Called into M & S at Abbey Centre, Newtownabbey looking to buy some items of bedding along with a few other things.
Arms full, I made my way to the customer service area where after a few minutes standing in line was invited over to pay for the items by a very glamorous lady with a welcoming smile whose name was Glynis.
Sensing I was a typical hapless male who didn't really have much of a clue about what he was doing, she took time to check all my bits (bedding) just to make sure I'd got it right, even managing to inadvertently delight with an totally unexpected bonus.
As someone who normally detests shopping unless I'm holding a mouse, those few moments spent with Glynis made me realise what I'm missing and actually what a soulless experience buying online really is.
In my humble opinion more people like Glynis could be retail's answer in the war against online shopping.
