I used to be a (IMO) very good customer spending over £50 a week at Morrisons until recently. One day after shopping I was waiting for a taxi home. I noticed that the outside small bins meant for general waste and cigarette butts etc. were being emptied. The staff are supposed to use a tub on wheels in the back of the store and walk around the outside of the store with this tub on wheels to use to empty the outside public used bins after taking them to the huge bins at the rear of the store. However, I noticed the 'bin' man using a random trolley to put the bags in. The same trolleys we use to put our meat/veg shopping into. Ok most of the food is wrapped in plastic. Should be safe right? Well no. My point is this. The bin man uses a random trolley every night to empty the bins. One of the bags tears, which they do. Cigarrette ash and whatever was in the plastic bags spills out onto our metal trolleys. It could be a bag of dog pooh someone has put in after walking thier dog. But it's now on one of the trolleys. I put my meat (in plastic) onto the trolley or fruit. I then when I go home put that food onto my counter tops in my fridge etc. Now the fridge and surfaces are contaminated. I complained to the head office in Bradford. I got a call back assuring me this would never happen again. A couple of weeks later I caught them again doing the same and said to the bin man you have been told not to use the trolleys to transport the bin bags from outside (he was taking it fully laden through the store instead of going round!!!) He looked ashen a walked off then a normal store worker came out to ask me what was the matter. I told her and she gulped and ran back inside. Then the manager came out and very angrily asked me again what the problem was. I told him and told him I had already contacted head office about the problem. He said he had heard nothing and got really clever because I had said 'you're putting sh*t from outside into the trolleys contaminating them' he got made and asked me not to swear focussing not on the problem but on the word 'sh*t' Smark alec. Things got heated and loads of staff came to back him up and he said 'touch me and these will jump on you' I said you what??!!! It was 4.10 on a sunday. Trading hours are from 10-4pm sundays you are only allowed to trade 6 hours on a sunday. He was still letting people in which was breaking the trading laws. I told him the same and he got really angry and started telling me to get out of his store. HIS store hahaha. Asian little man about 4ft 2" tall. I told him I was reporting his behaviour to head office and he scoffed that he would deal with head office no problem. Then he said to the security guard he's barred don't let him in here again. I've never met a ruder 'man' in my life and i'm not violent but I really wanted to punch this guy out and if I ever saw him in the street i'd be having some words let me tell you that , the little jumped up pr*ck!! Anyway I contacted head office who said they would look into it but no joy. I contacted them again no response then I threatened the papers etc. I got a message saying it's store managers responsibility if he wants to sack someone then it's his decision. £50 a week over 20 years I spent there!!! I'd give Morrisons a 0 nevermind a 1 star. I'll never shop there again and happily spend my money at Asda whos staff I find much better class of people.
