They seem to be imprinted on the same type of metal, same size and they were able to replicate the letter impression of my tags. Mine were issued in the 80's and are the type that can be difficult to read and that is what a wanted, an exact duplicate. My originals are safely stored and now I have duplicates that do not include my real SSN so I can display, gift or wear them without concern of identity theft. I recommend you have a string of fake numbers in the SSN area but not your real number! This makes it more authentic and you need not worry of them getting in the wrong hands.
