We were building a house out of state with an estimated completion date, which changed a few times. We need to sell the home we lived in to put money down on our new home but didn't want to end up without a place to live before we could move into our new home. Opendoor was extremely flexible and accommodating with our being able to change the closing date for the home we lived in - and it was very easy to change the closing date. Opendoor also allows you to stay in the home after closing - three days for free (and more at a daily rate). That was great as we closed one day then loaded the Uhaul the next day and then cleaned and took photos the second day and left the home. We will admit that we met with a couple of realtors to see what amount they would list our home and the offer we got from Opendoor was very competitive. We had been a bit concerned about when we would receive the money for our home and if it would be how much they said as we did need the funds for our new home. Since we did our closing (very easy to do online) in the morning we actually had our money in the bank by the end of the day - amazing - and it was what we expected. We were able to pack prior to our move and have boxes in rooms and did not have to concern ourselves with people coming in with realtors to look at the house. Opendoor answered any questions we had both in the beginning and throughout. We could not have asked for a better transition - selling our home through Opendoor was fantastic and I would do it again.
