It is hard for me to describe how frustrating of an experience it was to sell our home to Open Door. First, something others have mentioned - communication was spotty, often worse, even approaching closing. This was the case from the start to the finish, but as one concrete example, as closing approached, we were told to leave the key in the lockbox on the door. The problem was that there wasn't a lockbox. We repeatedly emailed the agent with whom we were working, but never heard back. On closing, we left the key under a rock, hearing after from the agent that that was fine. The problems were comparable at each stage: exterior inspection, signing the contract, and negotiating repairs. The sale went through, but the whole affair left a sour taste in our mouths, and I can't recommend Open Door to others, except in select situations.
