Open door buys low, sells way too high. Listed our home for 10k over what it appraised for. They did drop the price to only 3k over what it appraised for BUT how can you do that to people? How can you expect first time home buyers to purchase a home for 10k over what it’s worth? They also denied us a 1500 repair credit because they said they dropped the price for us… as soon as we move into the home less than a month after closing, the AC unit goes out, and the ceiling in the living room has a major leak coming from the master bedroom. 1500 is nothing to them compared to what that help would be for a first time home buyer like us. Two major expenses we are now responsible for. I understand this is what homeownership can be like but as first time home buyers, 26 and 27 years old, and expecting our first child in 2 months, this experience has been nothing short of stressful. No wonder realtors hate working with opendoor. All they care about is money and they don’t have any sympathy for buyers at all. DONT DO IT.
