We knew Opendoor helped distressed homeowner, because we witnessed it in our neighborhood. We explored selling to them because we had toddlers in our home and didn't want to deal with keeping the house "showable" until we sold it. We also knew we needed to paint and replace carpeting. Opendoor offered us a market price (a little lower than we would have listed), only charged us a small percentage of the selling price for administrative costs (less than a real estate commission), there were very few costs on our part, and the closing was a breeze. Throughout the experience, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop - it never did. They even moved the closing date for us twice while we searched for our new home. I would cheerfully do this again!
