I spent 2hrs on the phone yesterday trying to change the date of my flight from 20/3 to 17/3. It took forever for the main team to answer, then I was transferred to the change team where I listened to them chatting for 20 mins before they eventually realised I was on the line. There was lots of putting on hold while they checked if the change could be made. Eventually, they told me it could be made but had to be approved by their security team. As it was a Sunday and they’re based in Barcelona, they weren’t in the office so I’d need to call back today. As I work in the travel industry I questioned what security changes needed to be verified having never heard of this for a date change in 20 years of experience. They wouldn’t give me a clear answer and when I challenged them, they hung up! I then called the airline directly, ignored all the messages about them not being able to change travel agent bookings (it’s not true btw) and they answered the phone, made the change and sent me the email in under 20 mins. I will NEVER book via a 3rd party for flights again.
