I had booked a tui Thompson airways flight through you and contacted at you on numerous occasions by email and phone to check if my flight was running as all looked ok with it both ok your portal as well as tui s was allowing me to add extra bag or even check in on or even up to when I got to the airport and asking me to get ready and go to airport. Your emails were urging me to hire a car and hotel in agadir.
As discussed on last sunday i am 57 year old asian man suffering from blood pressure and therefore at a high risk according to Apollo and other online sites. I had been staying for a month in Leicester at 23 Saxby street as my area in lambeth sw97et had severe pandemic almost worst ok n London. The young 13 year old boy who died lived near me.
As discussed my wife and 3 children are in Morocco so I wanted to go there to be united with them as my son is crying for me but only if flight was running. As I
was told by you that flight was running and everything indicated that including yourself , your site and tui site that it was running I took last train from Leicester via Peterborough to London after speaking to you and then long walk from train station to bus stop as I could not take underground due to my condition and risk and then bus to my flat in Brixton on Sunday night.
Again on Monday 20 th April morning I kept on checking whilst getting ready . Your and tui website and all looked good so I packed my things and went to Gatwick airport . Taxi driver told me that north terminal was closed and tui and other airlines were running from south. When I got to south terminal. I checked with various people including information desk who checked and said it was not running. Only ryanair flight to Ireland and another Minsk were running.But when I showed them your site and tui site on my phone allowing me to check in and add luggage they were surprised that no notification was issued to me nor cancellation made clear on website. I have kept receipts and took screenshots of your site and tui site as well as airport.
I have not been well since coming back and was worried about Corona but now feel better.
I had spend my train fare from Leicester to London, bus fare on Sunday then i used car part way and taxi fare to airport and then bus to my car and my car back to Brixton. I have put myself at risk by taking 2 trains from Leicester to Peterborough then London then bus then to SW9 7et Brixton Lambeth then airport and back. I had also put people in London at risk unnecessarily.
I would be grateful if could review and refund me for my booking and only about £100 of associated costs. This does not take into account time off work in monday nor full costs incurred such as numerous phone calls to you and tui nor inconvenience and stress caused and risk taken but at least goes some way in compensating me.
Should you wish more evidence please let me know as my initial attachments were too many so I was asked to reduce the file size.
