An air compressor and tyre pressure gauge were purchased as a Christmas present on 14-Dec.
Price was good and the two items in stock in Brisbane. Delivery to Brisbane was advised 1-3 days with potential delays due to Christmas.
An email was received 3 days after order placement, to confirm the items on their way.
Enquiries were sent to both Outback Equipment and Aramex prior to Christmas to determine the whereabouts and expected timing of the delivery. Outback Equipment defaulted to the courier and Aramex didn’t respond.
It took nearly 2 weeks (30-Dec) for Aramex to register the delivery in their tracking system and the items arrived more than two weeks after Christmas on 7-Jan.
The items that were purchased as a gift, arrived in the original air compressor box which was tattered and worn and ultimately could not be given as a gift.
Instead of packing the items in a manner to protect them, the air compressor box was opened and the tyre gauge placed inside.
This resulted in me purchasing the same gift elsewhere to present on Christmas day and the two items returned to Outback Equipment for credit. The very poor delivery service was not credited.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience that is not typical of past purchases from Outback Equipment.
