So I ordered a bookshelf from IKEA which used parcel force to deliver their items. They provided me with a date which they will be delivering my item, but when I called Parcal to rearrange the delivery, the lady who I spoken to said that she does not know how to rearrange diliverys and the best advise she could give is wait until the dilivery has happened, I would get a card through my door, and I should call the number on the card and arrange a re delivery.
So I waited, received the card of attempted delivery, called the number and arranged for a date that I would be available . I thought that everything has been sorted and and I would receive my item on my selected date, but I was wrong. . .
When the date came of dilivery, I stayed in all day, but the longer it took, the longer I became more concerned. The evening came and I decided that I would call parcel force to check the status of the delivery, when I was transferred to a department, the man that I spoke to was extremely unhelpful, and very rude, he's was eating some sort of food whilst speaking to me, and clapping his mouth very loud when I was speaking too. When I asked him where my delivery was, he said that there is no record of delivery today, and I would have to ring Coventry deport to arrange a delivery slot. I explained to him that I have booked it for this date, and I have been waiting all day. His reply was "what do you expect me to do" and "call Coventry yourself". I decided to speak to the manager, and he was no help too! When I took it upon my self to sort this mess out, I called Coventry deport, waited over 30 mins to speak to someone, and the lady that I was transferred to was loud, rude and Obnoxious. Infact, she was so rude I decided that I have had enough of being passed around that I hung up and called ikea to cancel my order, and get a refund.
I spoke a gentleman at ikea that was very helpful and offered to speak to parcel force on my behalf. I agreed and gave him a date that I would be available to collect the delivery.
When the day came AGAIN when my parcel was meant to be delivered, it was delivered, but It's absolutely damaged and open, when I saw it I was disgusted and I honestly thought this was a not so funny prank that someone was playing. It literally looked liked it's been kicked around and the dogs were attaking it. I immediately called IKEA to express my rage and disappointment and advised them to stop using parcel force . They explained that they will arrenge an extange and they would use a different company to deliver my item.
I waited over a month for a book shelf. A month! And I'm still waiting. I would bare in mind when buying online what type of dilvery service companies use. If I so happen to come across or know they use parcel force, I most certainly will not be purchasing anything from them on the pure fact that I would avoid using this shameful, unorganised company again!
