Every single time I've had an international parcel unfortunately fall into ParcelForce's hands, there has always been a customs charge. I find it very, very hard to believe that these are done at random. Royal Mail is bad, but better. At least with them I don't get dread when I see on the tracking it's with them rather than ParcelForce. Not all my parcels are charged when RM delivers them, unlike ParcelForce.
Also, ParcelForce's custom charges are more expensive than Royal Mail's. Last week I was charged £15 by RM for a Nendoroid. Today I have been charged £20 also for a Nendoroid but by ParcelForce. It's really unacceptable.
The last thing that takes the cake is how they inform you you have a charge. Royal Mail just stick a slip through your door. You can just go to the depot the next day and collect it. But with ParcelForce it hangs around in customs for ages and then you have to wait even longer for them to post a letter to you to inform you about the charge. Every time this has happened, I have received it on a Friday. Very convenient as they do next working day delivery for free once paid, oh but if you want it Saturday, you need to pay an extra £12. Absolutely no way am I paying an awful charge to have my parcel and then an extra £12 just to have it the next day. Oh and their depot isn't local to me.
Sadly I will have many more of these charges in the future as the things I like to collect are magnets to those charges. Just a frustrating, greedy company.
