I have used PayPal for years and have always trusted it for secure transactions—until now. On February 17, 2025, I purchased merchandise from a candle company, Paradise Supply, in Paradise, PA, expecting it to ship within 3–5 days, as stated on their website.
After weeks with no updates and no response to multiple emails, I contacted PayPal for help. They contacted the vendor and later informed me that my order would arrive on March 25, 2025. So, I waited.
The 25th came and went—no package. When I followed up with PayPal, expecting a refund, I was shocked to learn that my case had already been closed in favour of the vendor on March 22—three days before the supposed delivery date! The PayPal agent told me nothing could be done.
PayPal then suggested I contact my bank, Chase. However, Chase informed me that because I paid via PayPal ACH transfer, I had no recourse for a refund—they only cover transactions made directly with a debit card.
So now, I have no merchandise, no refund, and no support from either PayPal or my bank. What’s the point of using PayPal if they don’t protect buyers? I will think twice before ever using PayPal again.
