Screwed Customer
After reading most of the reviews (overwhelmingly NEGATIVE), I don't think my experience will change anybody's mind. Bottom line: Piping Rock is HORRIBLE, UNTRUSTWORTHY. I purchased 12 bottles of a rather expensive supplement from Piping Rock (SAM-e), which cost me nearly $250. Yes: Idiot that I am, I spent $247.70 at Piping Rock. What's the problem? When I got the package, it was making a rattling sound, like loose pebbles. I made the mistake of opening the box inside my house, when bunches of glass shards and fragments fell out of it. The SAM-e bottles are glass, and the incompetent person who packaged them put a liner of bubble wrap on the bottom of the box, and then just put the 12 GLASS bottles on top, with no wrapping or protection. Luckily, only one bottle was broken. But shards and fragments were EVERYWHERE. Customer service was a joke. All I got was an apology, so I had to press the rep to let management know that they have a problem with packaging their product. Also, the apology I received was about the "inconvenience," and nothing about the DANGER that opening a box full of broken glass could cause the customer. One final thing: Why was the shipping label put on the BOTTOM of the box, despite cautions that read, "This side up" on the side opposite to where they put the address label? Any idiot (on other words, 99% of the Piping Rock personnel) would know that the delivery person would have to turn the box upside-down, to determine the delivery address! I used to be a loyal Piping Rock customer. Now, I will NEVER purchase from them again because I DO NOT TRUST Piping Rock.
