Disappointing Experience with Power Tools Direct - Misrepresentation and Poor Customer Service.
We recently purchased some parts washer brushes and hose from Power Tools Direct, only to be severely disappointed by both the product and the customer service. The product was marketed as suitable for parts washers, with no mention of any pH restrictions on the website. However, when the package arrived, I discovered that the manufacturer recommends a pH range of 6 to 8, which made the product unsuitable for my needs. If this information had been clearly disclosed on the website, I would not have purchased it.
When I reached out to customer service, I was informed that they could only offer a partial refund, excluding the original delivery charges, as they claimed to be just the retailer and not responsible for the manufacturer’s misrepresentation. This response is highly disappointing and fails to acknowledge my rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, which clearly states that if a product is misrepresented, I am entitled to a full refund, including original delivery costs, within 30 days.
It took a month of chasing to receive the partial refund, which is both frustrating and unacceptable. Power Tools Direct’s handling of this issue has left me extremely dissatisfied. It's a real shame, as we were hoping to find a reliable supplier for all our consumable needs, but after this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Buyer beware: be cautious when shopping with Power Tools Direct. Their lack of transparency and poor customer service has soured what could have been a good business relationship.
