Pulte started building our house in the summer of 2021, Parrish, FL. The foundation was put up. There were many blocks that had mortar cracks. We were told that they would be filled and fixed. That did not happen. It was covered with insulation on the inside and stucco on the outside. The framing was poorly done. We were told it would be fixed. It was drywalled and mudded over. We complained, so they cut out pieces from around the house and tried to piece fix it. There are places where the drywall is not screwed into anything in some of the corners. Walls were crooked, bowed, and had insufficient bracing. Boards were notched out with no other support. Boards were not cut to length to reach their intended destination, so some had an inch gap at each end. They just kept going. The garage door was jammed into the hole for it, which was out of square. As a result, the door does not fit correctly, and the frame is cracked at the bottom. We were told that they can't get it back out. But, we are told we will get a new door in there. It hasn't happened. The front outdoor foyer ceiling is uneven as you walk toward the house and out of the house. Some of the openings in closets measure differently from one end to the other. The brace that goes across the hallway by the living room is uneven. The drywall around the windows and sliding glass door is all uneven. We are not sure how window blinds will even fit properly. It needs to be fixed. We are not sure about the condition of the tile, as it is covered up at this time. There are blocks in the garage that have huge chunks out of them. They put drywall up in the ceiling and now it's not sealed in those areas. You could see daylight, before the gutters were put up. There is also another spot where daylight can be seen. The garage floor has spider cracks throughout its entirety. It looks like a tree. We asked the construction manager if he would be okay with the way the floor is if it was his own house, and he would not answer us. We are told that they had a strength test done on the floor and that it had passed, but we have not been given that information. We were told that 1/4-inch cracks are in tolerance for Pulte. But, they are willing to epoxy the floor for us. To top it off, our own field manager was the one that pointed out 85% of the issues to us and assured us they would ALL be fixed. We call the house, the "Scratch and Dent" model, because it is. Our realtor saw the issues. He had a phone conversation with some "higher ups" at Pulte. Pulte/Centex, said that we could walk away and lose our deposit money or let them finish the job. They work according to Pulte standards, and our standards are too high. They even threatened to keep us off the property. We are supposed to trust them, they say. Trust was gone months ago with lie after lie.
This was our first new built home. All we asked for was a quality-built house. We got a rushed pieced-together structure...not a home. We were led to believe that Pulte prided itself with good customer service and excellent building standards. We have experienced firsthand that Pulte's prior reputation no longer exists. We have been deceived, disrespected, mislead, and told to except a pieced-together structure. Anyone associated with Pulte should be embarrassed.
We have many pictures and videos that document our journey, which we will post at the appropriate time.
