Purchased a pair of Reiker fibre-grip winter boots as I have osteoporosis and wanted to insure again falls. The first time I wore them, I stepped on a small portion of ice and fell right down on the sidewalk. The fiber-grip boot has a small section on the sole that feels like sandpaper. This might work but it is positioned below the actual tread of the boot so the first thing that touches any slippery surface is the tread which is thick but no more slip-resistant than most winter boots. For the price I paid for them, I am extremely disappointed. Will not be buying Reiker again.
