have been buying Rieker shoes for YEARS. I sang their praises for the quality, design, comfort. I just bought a pair and was shocked and dismayed to see damage on my brand new red shoes after wearing TWO DAYS of just walking around. There are huge scuff marks on the toe and inner heal where the color is GONE. These shoes are ruined. Rather than being dyed material, it seems that the color was just spray painted on! This is NOT the level of quality that I have come to expect from Rieker and that I rave about. These shoes aren't worth the $89 I spent for them! This quality is what I expect of cheap shoes that cost less than half of what I paid. This quality is akin to something from a Dollar Store. Wrote the company. Received this condescending, smug response: "Thank you for contacting Rieker. We are sorry you are experiencing an issue with your Rieker shoes; this is certainly not the usual ‘Rieker customer experience’. We endeavor to produce excellent quality shoes that our customers will enjoy wearing for some time. We must point out that your legal purchase contract is with the retailer from whom the goods were purchased. This being the case, the retailer from whom you purchased the goods should be your point of contact. We are only able to assist with purchases made directly through us on our website in the USA. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with purchases made through a retailer in a different country. Please may I respectfully ask that you contact the retailer.
