Ref:1-8754468859 A truly terrible company to deal with. I recently stayed in to take delivery of a watch I ordered. I didn't leave the house and have 2 working doorbells. So I was suprised to receive an email saying my item had been delivered. It certainly was not nor was a slip posted detailing where the parcel was supposedly left. I contacted royal mail complaints/ customer service department, I spoke to a lady named Holly, I was told that the Item had been reported as delivered but Holly then said she could confirm that this was not the case. I was then given a reference number and told to wait 3 days before contacting the retailer and informing them of the situation, and sharing the mentioned reference number. Which I did, the retailer informed me that there own investigation would be done that could take 10 days. After speaking to the retailer once again I contacted royal mail, I failed to get the name of the male representative, I told him I had spoken to the retailer and that they would investigate the incident themselves. The royal mail rep then said that was normal and that it was common procedure. And that it had been delivered to the wrong address and that royal mail would accept responsibility as it was without doubt error on there part. I was never contacted by royal mail nor the retailer, after more than 10 days I made contact with the retailer and was told royal mail denied any responsibility and that they had washed there hands of it, at which I was offered a refund by the retailer as sadly the watch is no longer in stock or on offer any longer. I contacted Royal mail once more in an attempt to get an answer as to what went so wrong with what should have been an impossibly simply parcel handover. I was informed the postman said he definitely delivered it and left it on my property(where she could not say) and took photographic evidence. I requested to see the evidence and the lady said the photo was taken of the item in the postmans bag. How that is to be considered evidence Im not sure. I asked why no effort was made to hand the Item to me in person and was told that it was normal for items to be left in a safe place if the recipient is not able to take possession. I informed her once more that I was at the property for exactly that reason. She then said something to effect of "what can I say, things didn't go as they should have but that there was no wrong doing and I got my money back so its a happy ending and hopefully a one of, is there anything else I can help you with today" The result, yes I got my money back no thanks to royal mail, I didn't however get the watch I had been really looking forward to getting at a great price and ended up on the phone for 3 hours+ and wasted most of a day waiting in for a delivery that remains undelivered(to me). Between this incident, leaving my outside postbox lid up on occasion destroying mail due to weather ingress and leaving a package leaning against a poison laced rat trap I for one have completely lost confidence in royal mail and genuinely fret when making a purchase and been made aware of royal mails involvement causing undue anxiety and stress.
